Dulnain House, Dulnain Bridge, Scotland

Dulnain House is located in the centre of the village of Dulnain Bridge, 4 miles from Grantown on Spey, 10 miles from Aviemore and surrounded by some of Scotland's most breathtaking scenery in the Cairngorms National Park. It offers peaceful relaxation and this 19th century property has been lovingly renovated to a high standard (VisitScotland 4* grading), is very well equipped and beautifully presented, ensuring every comfort at any time of the year.

For a holiday or short break this house is an ideal base for exploring the unspoilt Scottish Highlands and the Cairngorm Mountains, the highest in the UK, dominate the landscape with the River Spey, which is the best salmon fishing river in Scotland, lazily winding its way through the valley.

The area is rich in wildlife including many speciality birds such as Golden Eagle, Capercaillie, Scottish Crossbill and Crested Tit, and close by at RSPB Loch Garten, there's the opportunity to watch Ospreys fishing, feeding and rearing their young. Sightings of Red and Roe Deer regularly delight visitors and even those more elusive mammals such as Pine Marten and Badger, can sometimes be glimpsed by those with keen eyesight.

There's plenty to do with many outdoor activities including cycling, walking, fishing, water sports and golf on some fine, inexpensive courses nearby, but if you just want to relax, there's no finer place to come and simply take in the beautiful surroundings. Aviemore with its leisure facilities and funicular railway is only 11 miles away, Grantown-on-Spey is just 4 miles and the city of Inverness is 30 miles north. A short distance away from the centre of the village of Dulnain Bridge is the Speyside Heather Centre - an award-winning visitor and garden centre with a unique 'Heather Story' exhibition, gift shop, antiques gallery and famous Clootie Dumpling Restaurant, which the owners of Dulnain House and Thistle Cottage also own.

Nearby is Broomhill Station, or for those of you who have watched the popular BBC's Monarch of the Glen series, it will be recognisable as Glenbogle Station! Why not board the steam train and take a nostalgic journey through Boat of Garten to Aviemore.
